Tuesday, March 26, 2002 I visited several sites about scientology yesterday. I had never really given much thought to the Church of Scientology, but I had assumed its legitimacy due to it's large size and my ignorance. I am ignorant no more. These people are freaking lunatic cultists. Reading their own site is weird, but start reading their detractor's sites to see the real weirdness begin. They actually believe that an Evil Galactic Overlord named Xenu placed us on Hawaii millions of years ago. Of course, any religion established by a SCIENCE-FICTION writer should be given a very careful review before one decides to join. I really think this is L. Ron Hubbard's joke on the world. This is a definition of Incident Two, a major event in the "religion." "Incident Two, 75 million years ago Xenu, the evil galactic overlord, froze us, then blew us up with H-bombs on Hawaii, remember? Also called the wall of fire, or the OT 3 incident.
